Four plants $5.50 Geranium Scented Geraniums – The following are actually in the Pelargonium (storks beak) genus, a cousin to Geranium’s (hardy cranesbills), they are commonly referred to as Geraniums; we felt it would be easier to leave them under Geranium than have people hunting for them. Available in a tantalizing array of fragrances, they have charmed gardeners since their introduction to England in the 17th century. In our own country they were introduced by some of our earliest Presidents.

Gotu Kola – See Centella Helichrysum italicum (Curry Plant) Delightful curry-scented silver foliage topped by button yellow flowers. This is not true curry, but the leaves may be used in potpourri. The essential oil is used to enhance fruit flavors in confections and perfumes. Ht: 24” Tender $6.50 Hierochloe odorata (Sweet Grass) Tall leaves have a clean, sweet scent when dried, used in basket weaving. Put in a sunny, moist but well drained location. Used in Native American’s rituals. Ht: 10-20” Hardy $8.00 Iris germanica var. florentina (Orris Root) A species of Iris with stunning white, violet tinged flowers. The rhizomes are used in the making of potpourri as a fixative. Ht: 2-4’ Hardy $6.50 Laurus Nobilis (Bay Laurel) Frost sensitive small tree, dried leaves are a standard cooking herb, a lovely patio plant. It can be cut back at the height you like. Ht: 8-12’. Tender. $10.50 Lavandula angustifolia ‘Melissa Lavender’ Unique to this L. angustifolia variety, the sweetly fragrant flowers start out pure white and change to a delicate pink. Ht: 12-24” Hardy $7.50 Lavandula ‘Blue Elegance’ Blue flowered long blooming; a very nice lavender. Ht: Hardy $7.50 Lavandula X ‘Dutch’ A tall, robust grower with broad, gray leaves; lavender blue flowers top long flower spikes. Tall spikes make it easy to harvest, an excellent culinary selection. The effect is striking, at a distance appears to be masses of butterflies.
